This is BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification needed by Healthcare Workers. Required for working in the healthcare industry such as a hospital, clinic, nursing home, assisted living facility or any healthcare setting. This course is provided by an American Heart Association certified instructor. All course topics are taught from the current edition of the BLS student manual.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have physical conditions that might prevent you from participating in the course, please tell one of the instructors when you arrive for class. The instructor will work to accommodate your needs within the stated course completion requirements. In the event that you are ill, please notify your instructor to reschedule your training.

Student must have a current edition of the BLS Student Manual.

This course is provided by an American Heart Association certified instructor. All course topics are taught from the current edition of the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support student manual. You are required by American Heart Association to bring a copy of this manual to the course.

AHA’s ACLS Course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

If you are a first time student or have an expired ACLS cartification Please choose the First time course. If you are renewing please send a copy of your unexpired completion card as well as your BLS card. If you do not send your card or have an unexpired card you will be charged full price.

Course contents:  After completing the course, students should be able to:

  • Define systems of care
  • Apply the BLS, Primary, and Secondary Assessments sequence for a systematic evaluation of adult patients
  • Discuss how the use of a rapid response team (RRT) or medical emergency team (MET) may improve patient outcomes
  • Discuss how the use of a rapid response team (RRT) or medical emergency team (MET) may improve patient outcomes
  • Discuss early recognition and management of ACS, including appropriate disposition
  • Discuss early recognition and management of stroke, including appropriate disposition
  • Recognize bradycardias and tachycardias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Perform early management of bradycardias and tachycardias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Model effective communication as a member or leader of a high-performance team
  • Recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance
  • Recognize respiratory arrest
  • Perform early management of respiratory arrest
  • Recognize cardiac arrest
  • Perform prompt, high-quality BLS including prioritizing early chest compressions and integrating early automated external defibrillator (AED) use
  • Perform early management of cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including immediate post–cardiac arrest care
  • Evaluate resuscitative efforts during a cardiac arrest through continuous assessment of CPR quality, monitoring the patient’s physiologic response, and delivering real-time feedback to the team

 You are registering for the ACLS Instructor- Initial or Renewal course. This is for those who do not have a current AHA PALS Instructor card.  That is, you have never taken the course, OR your  card is expired.

Your current/unexpired AHA BLS and ACLS Provider cards must be brought to class.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

The goal of the PALS Provider Course is to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high-performance team dynamics and high-quality individual skills. This course uses precourse preparation, didactic instruction, and active participation in learning stations and simulated cases. Pre Course Certification needs to be 84% or above for 1 day course.

Course Learning Objectives:
After successfully completing‐ the PALS Course, students should be able to:

  • Perform high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) per AHA basic life support (BLS) recommendations
  • Differentiate between patients who do and do not require immediate intervention
  • Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest early and begin CPR within 10 seconds
  • Apply team dynamics
  • Differentiate between and perform early interventions for respiratory distress and failure
  • Differentiate between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock
  • Perform early interventions for the treatment of shock
  • Differentiate between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias
  • Describe clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias
  • Implement post–cardiac arrest management
